Some of Ohio's $400 million plus rainy day fund needs to be sent back to education, according to 92nd Ohio House District Candidate Bob Armstrong.

"There is a $400-million excess in the budget, so none of that money has been offered to be returned to our public schools or our communities," said Armstrong.

The Bainbridge area Democrat believes the state education funding formula is still out of balance and needs attention: "By doing so, that would increase our ability to meet the needs of local communities, businesses would be attracted to communities that have strong public schools, and our economy would be strengthened."

Armstrong, who is a retired educator and former Paint Valley Board of Education member, is running against Republican Gary Scherer, of Circleville.
