The United Way of Ross County held a luncheon at the Ross County Service Center marking the beginning of their campaign and celebrating the first wave of contributions gathered from the community.
They have already managed to get to ten percent of their goal of $625,000.
The United Way takes the money donated and helps out other organizations around the community. Members from the Salvation Army were there telling how important donating to the United Way was for them.
While making their presentation officials of the Salvation Army talked about programs they have that help fight the sex slave trade here in Ross County, as well as help homeless teens and adults in the area. None of the local United Way funds, however, go directly to that program.
