Snowflakes may fall as a large cast of about 34 takes the stage of the Majestic Theatre this December in a live production of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas." 

Connie Senter of the Civic Theatre said it was the right time for a special production this size...and, she was talked into directing it.  

If you're familiar with the movie, Rosemary Clooney's role will be played by Tricia Lucas - but like the rest of the play, it won't be an exact copy.  Lucas takes influence from Clooney, but everyone will give their own "spin" to their roles. 

Some of the many songs that the crew will perform live include "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing," "Blue Skies," "I Love a Piano," "Sister Snow," "Count Your Blessings," "The Old Man"...and of course, "White Christmas." 

The music will not be piped in, but will be from a full orchestra.  And the general will even be played by an actual military man, Bob Leach, who teaches at Huntington schools. 

The work on a show this size began quite a while ago - auditions in September, then rehearsals starting a week later. 

And director Connie Senter says there's something about the old theater that adds to performances. 

Shows are December 6th through the 8th at 7:30pm, with a matinée the 9th at 2pm.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students & seniors, and 12 & under are $6.
