The word has been out the last month for the general population to get their annual flu vaccination. Now the Veterans Affairs Medical Center is reminding veterans to get theirs as well.

V.A. Medical Center Nurse Teresa Teresa Davis says there is some irony as to where the local veterans can get their flu shots. The shots are being given at the former site of World War Camp Sherman, which is believed to have been responsible for the spread of the Spanish Flu Pandemic to the Chillicothe population in 1918.

The shots are free to any military veteran that comes in. Veterans wanting flu shots can get them at the Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center or any of their satellite clinics throughout the state.
