Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 will continue to patrol and treat the state highway system during the evening and late-night hours as a winter storm progresses through the state.

Currently, routes in Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties are clear and wet; however, ice may form quickly as the temperature drops throughout the evening.

In addition to the potential for ice, light rain is likely to change to freezing rain, and snow is forecasted during the evening hours.

Although ODOT crews will continue patrolling and treating routes throughout the district as needed, motorists are reminded use safe driving tips. In addition to using driver safety tips, motorists are asked to give ODOT crews room to work.

A snowplow operator’s field of vision is restricted, and they can’t always see other drivers on the roads. It is important that motorists keep their distance and watch for sudden stops.
