A 5K, which will benefit the Child Protection Center of Ross County, will kick off the new year.

"We're having a 5K race through Yoctangee Park, starting at the Pump House at 9am on New Year's Day," said Dr. Scott McCallum, " so we've got your New Year's resolutions on the right foot for those who are supposed to exercise for this upcoming year."

Registration begins at the Pump House at 8:30am on January 1st.

The first 40 people who register will get a hat.
