A local city leader has been appointed to serve on a statewide council. Governor John Kasich appointed Chillicothe Mayor Jack Everson to the Clean Ohio Council earlier this week. He'll serve on a term through November of 2014.

Fellow appointees are Michael Lang, of Dayton, John Detrick, of Springfield, and James Samuel, of Columbus.

"I appreciate the confidence the Governor has shown in me with this appointment," said Everson.

"I look forward to the challenge and to serving the citizens of Ohio on this council."
