Area firefighters battled a structure fire in the 400 block of Jefferson Street in Greenfield Saturday morning. The fire may have started in a two-story house near 437 Jefferson.

Firefighters from Paint Creek Joint Fire Department responded to the fire shortly after 7 a.m. on a report of a house fully engulfed in flames. According to www.fayetteadvocate.com, mutual aid from three departments, including Wayne Township from Good Hope were requested to the scene for manpower.

Approximately five people were displaced as a result of the fire and are were assisted by the American Red Cross Highland County Chapter.
