Teen births have dropped dramatically in the U.S. according to Dr Ellen Rome of the Cleveland Clinic. She says it is partly because of the new era of contraceptives have played a factor.

But, while that is the case, it brings up the question of how parents should approach the issue of sexual activity in their children. She urges parents to talk to their kids about putting-off sex until later.

The number of 15-19 year old girls having babies dropped 8% between 2010 and 2011. But, a closer look at the numbers shows the rate dropping 49% since 1991.

The birth rate for older teens also dropped by 7%.
