The West Virginia Miners held Chillicothe to just four hits in a 9-2 win Monday night in Beckley, West Virginia.
The Paints headed into the 4th inning trailing 3-0, but managed two runs to cut the lead to 3-2. Jared Kujawa doubled home Aaron Hopper, then Kujawa scored on a fielder's choice.
The Miners pulled away with six more runs to sweep the two game series.
West Virginia touched Paints pitching for 13 hits. Tyler Beckstrom, who allowed 5-runs over four innings, suffered the loss and slipped to 3-2 on the season.
Chillicothe falls to 3-4 in the second half of the Prospect League season, three games back of first place in the East Division.
The Paints now begin the Prospect League All Star break. The All Star game is Wednesday in Springfield, Illinois. 10 Paints players are on the East Division team.
