Zane Trace Sweeps North Adams 3 to 1
The Zane Trace Pioneers swept North Adams Wednesday night in the Volleyball Division 3 District Semis.
ZT led in kills by Hayle Carle 9 Delaney Spetnagle, Kylan Strausbaugh and Alyx Chaffin each had 6.
ZT had 9 aces and controlled each set. The Pioneers are now (22-2) and North Adams (13-11).
Zane Trace goes on to play Alexander on Saturday.
Alexander Over Adena 3 to 1
Alexander ends Adena's season winning 29-27, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22.
The Spartans were led by Sidney Arnold's 17 kills along with 10 from Hanna Hixson.
Adena was led by Jenny Grigsby and Bridgette Scaggs with 10 each. Karli Bower added 9.
Adena will fail to advance to regional for first time since 1995.
Westfall Over Marietta 3 to 1
Led by Olivia Cobb's 32 kills and 14 assists, the Westfall Mustangs defeated Marietta in four sets 25-20, 25-17, 15-25, 25-21.
The Mustangs were able to capitalize on unforced errors committed by Marietta in the first two sets.
And in the fourth and final set were able to hold Marietta at bay to advance to the District Final on Saturday where they will play Washington Courthouse.
Courthouse Over Unioto 3-2
Washington Courthouse was able to battle back in the first two sets to take a 2-0 lead over Unioto, only to see the Shermans take sets three and four to force a fifth and deciding set.
In the final set Washington Courthouse was able to capitalize on oppurtnities to beat the Shermans 15-10 and advance to the District Final on Saturday where they will face the Westfall Mustangs.
