The SVC football runner-up will advance deeper into the post-season than this year's champion.

Piketon 49, Minford 27
Runner-up Piketon moved to the Division 4 Regional Semis with a 49-27 rout of Minford Friday, avenging a 19-14 Week 3 loss to the Falcons in the regular season.

The Redstreaks led the entire game, jumping to a 21-0 lead before Minford got on the scoreboard. Piketon led 35-14 at halftime, and cruised to the 49-27 win to improve to (9-2) and ended Minford's season at (8-3).

The Redstreaks were led by quarterback Isaac Brabson, who connected on 18/28 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball 11 times for 77 yards. Steven Royster carried 20 times for 81 yards and two TDs. The receiving corps also had big nights as Jeremy Farmer hauled in six receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for one. Evan Ferguson had 88 yards receiving with one TD and Colton Wiiliams had four catches for 72 yards.

Piketon now advances to play the region's #1 team in Saint Clairsville, who throttled Cadiz Central Harrison 41-6. The game site for Piketon-Saint Clairsville will be determined by the OHSAA on Sunday.


Milton Union 46, Westfall 14
SVC champ (9-2) Westfall might have thought they were run over by a Mack Truck Friday. Close anyway, the Bulldogs of Milton Union 46-14. The (9-2) Bulldogs powerful running attack, which accounted for 466 of their 525 yards, scored touchdowns on their first four possessions and led 33-7 at halftime.

Tyler Brown ran for 224 yards and scored three TDs on 19 carries, while Joe Thoele rushed 13 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns and David Karnes 86 yards and two TDs on 12 carries.



Westfall's Trent Williamson was silenced by the Milton Union defense, being checked on 42 rushing yards on 18 carries and connecting on 20/47 passes for 233 yards. The Mustangs could only manage 43 rushing yards and committed four turnovers.
