The Piketon Redstreaks continue to play some of their best basketball of the season, running their SVC leading record to (9-1) in a 65-47 win at Southeastern Saturday night.

Piketon shot over 50% in every quarter, except the second, but connected on 64% in the fourth stanza. They finished at 29/56 for 52% from the floor, and only went to the free-throw line 4 times, connecting on 3.

Southeastern struggled from the field again, going only 18/46 for 39%- including 5/14 from the arc. The Panthers were also 6/11 from the charity stripe.

Piketon won the battle of the boards 28-21, with SE committing 16 turnovers to Piketon's 12.

The Redstreaks were propelled by Craigen Moore's 27 points, followed by Jeremy Farmer with 14. Zach Farmer contributed 9 points/9 rebounds and Isaac Brabson added 8 points.

Southeastern got 13 points from Austin Hice and 12 from Nick Kellough.

Elsewhere around the SVC, Zane Trace remains one game behind Piketon with 55-45 win over Westfall, Unioto is two off the lead with a 74-39 win against Paint Valley and Adena picks up their second win of the season with a 42-30 win over Huntington.


In Girls basketball in the SVC, (10-1) Adena and (10-1) Unioto continue to share the top spot, with both winning on Saturday. The Lady Warriors crushed Huntington 58-14, Unioto broke-open a close game at halftime for a 59-47 over Paint Valley. Westfall upset Zane Trace 45-40 and Piketon topped Southeastern's Lady Panthers 45-33.
