PIKETON 54, CROOKSVILLE 45
The (22-3) Piketon Redstreaks managed another fourth quarter burst to lift them to a 54-45 district championship win over (12-13) Crooksville Friday at Ohio University. The Streaks fell behind 8-0 out of the gate and didn't get their first bucket until 2:43 left in the first quarter to start a 10-2 run to end the quarter and tie the game 10-10.

But Crooksville led after the next two breaks in a hard fought back-and-forth game 24-22 at halftime and 33-30 after three quarters.

Trailing
38-35 in the final period, Piketon went on a 16-2 run to take lead 51-40 and continue on to the Sweet 16 with a 54-45 win.

The Redstreaks were led by Craigen Moore's 14 points, Isaac Brabson added 13 and Jeremy Farmer chipped-in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Zach Farmer only had 8 points in the ballgame, but grabbed 9 rebounds for Piketon.

Piketon shot 22/46 from the field for 48% and only managed 2/11 from the arc.

Crooksville was led by Mitch Swingle with 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Lake Channel added 11 points. For the game, Crooksville was 19/45 for 42%- including 5/13 from the arc.

The Redstreaks will now face Oak Hill in the Regional Semis at the OU Convo, at 8pm on Wednesday, March 13th. WKKJ airtime will be 7:45 and can also be heard worldwide on IHeart Radio.


IRONTON 69, ZANE TRACE 45
(18-6) Zane Trace fell to (21-2) Ironton in the other district final 69-45. The Pioneers trailed 17-14 after one quarter, and after trailing by 15, cut that to 32-22 at halftime.

The Pioneers were withing 37-30 midway through the third quarter, but Ironton was able to extend their lead to 47-32 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, Ironton was able to pull away for good setting up their match with Martins Ferry in the Regional Semi Final. 

Zane Trace was led by Tyler Hinty with 16 points and senior Wes Beam added 10 points and 8 rebounds.

From the field, Zane Trace shot 36% on 16/46 shooting- including only 3/11 from the arc.

Ironton was led by Trey Fletcher with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Zak Carter added 20 points and Tyler White chipped in 11 points.

Ironton was 28/52 from the floor for 54% in the game.

Zane Trace had 16 turnovers to only 4 for the Tigers.

Ironton plays Martins Ferry at 6:15pm Wednesday in the Regional Semis, after Martin Ferry topped Garaway 56-48 in the East District Championship.
