Beat Cancer Boot Camp at YMCA
Two levels of Beat Cancer Boot Camp are now being offered at the YMCA! Every Thursday night from 6:30 to 7:30 Mark Shepherd will lead you through military drills and assist you with reaching your fitness and nutritional goals. This program is challenging - moderate to intense- free to Y members and $5 per visit for non-Y members. This version of BCBC meets inside for 6 months of the year and outside for six months. A step down from the intensity of Mark's BCBC Class is BASIC Beat Cancer Boot Camp. This program is also a unique exercise program designed to empower and inspire all people, with or without a chronic condition, to take charge of their lives. This program assists those who have not exercised in a while and is an introduction to getting into an exercise routine. BASIC Boot Camp, taught by Kim Bethel, meets on Tuesdays at 4pm. Regular exercise gives us all the mental edge and self-esteems that we need to take charge of our health, and not let it take charge of us. Besides the exercise component, all of those in both classes meet for nutritional meal demonstrations, field trips, and social events to celebrate the successes of each other. This is a national program, designed specifically by the Navy Seals in Arizona, and is spreading throughout the country. Reconnect your mind and body through fitness and visit one of these two classes! Check out the Arizona site and get an idea what this is all about. www.beatcancerbootcamp.com Call the Wellness Department at the Ross YMCA at 772-4340 for more information.
