Clinton County authorities estimate bundles were worth over $2.1 million.
A man from Mexico is facing felony drug charges after troopers seized 538 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Clinton County, Thursday. Authorities say they stopped 25-year-old David Gutierrez, for a registration violation on I-71 northbound at 4:07pm. A probable cause search yielded 24 bundles of marijuana with an estimated value of over $2.1 million.
Gutierrez was charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies, and was taken to the Clinton County Jail.
If convicted, he could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
