Tom Lehman leaves the district and teacher/football coach Scott Keller loses five days pay.
The Westfall Board of Education has accepted the resignation of high school principal Tom Lehman. In a related note- teacher and high school football coach Scott Keller had "five days pay withheld".
A press release issued and later clarified by Westfall School Superintendent Cara Riddel, states quote: "the district has brought to closure a complex employee performance issue".
No specific details for the employee action involving Keller were mentioned in the press release or whether there was a connection between it and Lehman's resignation.
Riddel clarified that Keller will keep his job and the "five days of pay being withheld" was "in lieu of terminating his employment".
Four points of Scott Keller's suspension "agreement" that was faxed to the radio station were "redacted" due to federal HIPPA regulations.
Tom Lehman's resignation shows that the Westfall HS principal will be paid $60,000 of his salary.
Since the announcement on Friday, more details of what happened behind the scenes were released in a Saturday Circleville Herald article, which showed Keller often leaving his classroom unattended and missing work repeatedly for medical reasons, without Mr Lehman notifying the superintendent.
Lehman's issues apparently also went much deeper with a negative evaluation from Superintendent Cara Riddle....
