Locals Bow on National Day of Prayer

About 100 met in the center of Chillicothe to be the local aspect of a of a country-wide religious event.

Leaders spiritual - as well as civil - gathered at the steps of the Ross County Courthouse to commemorate the 61st National Day of Prayer noon Thursday. 

Eva Gerber acted as the emcee, guiding the event between ministers and the mayor...who gave a proclamation interspersed with heartfelt convictions.

Gerber said the call for men of God was answered fruitfully, with more than 20 local pastors.  She said this local event was one of many occurring across the country - from dawn in Maine...to sunset in Hawaii.

The event ended with the 12 attending office-holders, on the steps receiving blessings through the massed pastors. 

Another part of the event was in the evening at Tabernacle Church at East Main and Hickory.
