Gary Freeland is accused of gross sexual imposition and four counts of rape.
The jury trial for a Fayette County man accused of gross sexual imposition and four counts of rape has been postponed. The trial against Gary W. Freeland was supposed to start, Tuesday, but has been rescheduled for September 18th.
Last month, a special prosecutor from the Ohio Attorney General's Office was appointed to the case due to a request by Ross County Prosecutor Matt Schmidt.
Allegations are that Freeland had sexual contact with victims in the mid 1990s that were between the ages of 4 and 11 at the time of the incidents, which are said to have taken place inside Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chillicothe.
The local prosecutor is a relative of the Tabernacle pastor.
