Circleville Council heard about street work...but it's never enough.
In a report to council, Service Director John Ankrom said annual street work will begin soon for four streets, involving "mill and fill," some new curbs, and the mandated ADA crosswalk ramps.
This is phase one, for June and July. It's about the same amount of work the city has been able to do in previous years. But with a little extra in this year's fund, Ankrom hopes to have a small second phase, including extending ODOT's repaving at the city's west entrance.
Circleville seems to always be behind in street work because of the tight budget. Ankrom says at the current pace, the 58 miles of streets would get repaved after 70 years...which is a little too long.

In legislation, council approved the updated plan of the Joint Solid Waste Management District, and allowed the CEO Of the Community Housing Improvement Program to revert to the mayor's office.
The council president was designated the CEO last year after council was dissatisfied with Mayor Chuck Taylor's management of it.
