Cancer patients and survivors will be featured in the display at the Pump House.

An art exhibit opens at the Pump House Center for the Arts, Saturday, which aims to bring attention to cancer on a local level.

"The subject of these images are local cancer patients and survivors, and they chose the person that goes into the image with them, just somebody who's had a great impact on their survival, and we make the image for them to end up, finally, in their homes," said Amy Mears, of Mears Photography.

Sayings that are special to each survivor are also incorporated into the images.

The "Faces of Survivors" opening reception is slated for 6pm to 9pm at the Pump House, Saturday.

A $5 donation will be collected at the door with all proceeds benefiting the Southern Ohio Survivors.
