5,000 to provide education activities

New federal resources have been awarded to Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in Ross County. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown said the park is one of the 49 national parks participating in the 2012 America’s Best Idea program. This program funds park projects designed to connect diverse populations throughout the United States with their national parks.

"Ohio’s national parks are an integral part of our communities," said Brown. "This award will help ensure that Hopewell Culture National Historical Park has the resources needed to keep Ross County residents-and all Ohioans-connected to such a historically meaningful location."

This $5,000 grant, funded through the National Park Foundation will provide students from central Ohio with the opportunity to visit the park and participate in educational activities about the Native Americans who lived in the region.
