Michael Jones will be president of the ACONP.
Adena neurologist, Doctor Michael Jones, has been named president-elect of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists. The national organization has 747 physician members, 100 resident physicians and 30 student members.
Jones will be sworn in as president at ACONP’s Annual Convention October 8th, and will serve in that role for one year. Dr. Jones hopes to use his role as president to elevate awareness of osteopathic medicine, and to facilitate the updating of accreditation standards required for Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists.
In addition to his presidency, Dr. Jones is also celebrating his decision to remain with Adena Health System. After 14 years, he tendered his resignation a few months ago after accepting a new position elsewhere. As word spread and the weeks went on, he spoke to many colleagues and patients - and had a change of heart.
