Duo Arrested for Attempted Theft

Police say Adam Skaggs and Whitney Lowery tried to steal tires from Nourse.

Two Chillicothe residents were arrested for trying to steal tires and rims, Monday. A Chillicothe police officer was patrolling the area behind the Nourse Family of Dealerships off Bridge Street just after 1 a.m. when he saw 23-year-olds Whitney Lowery and Adam Skaggs standing on the closed lot. According to a report, Skaggs said they were there to steal tires and rims because their vehicle needed them.

In their vehicle, the officer found a tire iron, pump jack, cinder blocks, and a hub cap. Children ages 2 and 1, who were also in the vehicle, were released to a relative.

Skaggs was arrested for theft, attempted theft, possession of criminal tools, criminal trespass, and child endangering.

Lowery was arrested on charges of complicity to theft, criminal trespass, and child endangering.
