Police say two intruders stole cooper wiring from the Horizon Telephone Company.

A Chillicothe man was arrested for theft of copper wire from Horizon Telephone Company, Monday. Authorities say they recovered a large amount of wire from a traffic stop in which the driver said she had dropped off 36-year-old Anthony Dale and another man to steal the copper, and they called her to pick them up when they were finished.

At the Orange Street Horizon property, a hole was cut into the fence, and police say surveillance video showed two men, resembling the subjects in question, going onto the property and cutting wire for about two hours.

Authorities say the recovered wire had tracking numbers that matched the Horizon spool.

One of the suspects denied the theft but said he helped Dale load the copper into the vehicle. Police say the man asked for an attorney during questioning, so the interview stopped.

Dale was arrested for theft, while the others were not yet charged.
