The city refuse schedule for autumn starts September 3rd.
Chillicothe Mayor Jack Everson announced refuse crews will switch to the fall schedule in September. Refuse crews will pick up neighborhood refuse beginning at 7 a.m.from September 3, through May 31.
Additionally, the city will provide a "large item" pick-up service beginning the week of September 10.
Items crews will pick up include: carpet, sofas, chairs, mattresses, and other similar pieces of furniture. Paint cans will be collected as long as the paint has been dried out or mixed with sawdust.
Large items that will not be picked up are large appliances, such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, hot water tanks, heaters, old radios, computer equipment, air conditioning units, and televisions. Construction materials from demolitions or remodeling will not be collected nor will tires, batteries, chemicals, or other hazardous materials.
Large items must be kept separate from regular refuse and should be placed at the curb the weekend prior to their schedule pick-up.
