The scouts began the year Titanic sunk
The Girl Scouts organization is in its 100th year of existence.
Leslie Poole, chief development officer of Ohio's Heartland of Girls Scouts, says they started in 1912 but have "adapted to keep up with the interests of today's young ladies".
Becky Dungee, with the Tecumseh Service Unit, says girls in grades K-12 can join at any time. She says they are also in need of volunteers. For more information, call 773-2146.
