25-year-old Sarah Shaw was run over by a car, after she had been thrown from another car
The Chillicothe Post of the Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at 11:22pm Monday, September 3rd on CR184 - Rozelle Creek Road in Ross County.
Jacob T. Steele, age 25, Hailey L. Steele, age 7, of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sarah E. Shaw, age 25, of Bainbridge, Ohio, were traveling westbound on Rozelle Creek Road in a 2010 Ford Focus when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned into a field. After the initial crash Ms. Shaw was lying in the roadway and was struck by a 2001 Chevy Cavalier which was also traveling westbound on Rozelle Creek. The Chevy Cavalier was being operated by Hilary N. Colburn, age 19, of Londonderry, Ohio. Ms. Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene by Mark Gray from the Ross County Coroner’s Office.
Mr. Steele and the juvenile received minor injuries and were transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center by Huntington Township EMS.
Ms. Colburn and Jessica R. Delong, age 19, of Chillicothe, Ohio, who was a passenger in the Chevy Cavalier also received minor injuries and were transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center by Huntington Township EMS.
The crash is still under investigation.
