Waverly Council to do more research.
The big item on the agenda at Waverly council was the third reading of an ordinance on the requirements of secondhand dealers.
According to the ordinance, these dealers would now have to hold precious metals thirty days as opposed to the previous five. An effort to help combat the loss of personal items that have been stolen and then sold.
One local business man raised several concerns for business owners about the new ordinance before council could pass it into law. Of these, store security was the main cause of concern.
Council decided to table the ordinance until their next session which will be Oct. 2.
