The Clark Drive and Brookill extensions will allow the city to begin constructing the new complex.

Circleville City Council members have moved one step closer to the beginning stages of construction of the city's new school complex.

During their regular meeting on Tuesday, council members approved the issuance of a one year $2,210,000 Sale Of Notes to cover construction costs of the Clark Drive and Brookhill Lane extensions that will connect up with the site chosen to house the city's new school facility.

Finance Committee Chair S. Monica Justinger says the money will be used to pay the costs of roadway improvements such as excavating, grading, paving, curbing, and the installation of sidewalks, etc.

Justinger says the city may also be able to offset the $2,210,000 price tag with help a little help from the state. The city can request that the state reimburse the city $300,000 for each access road leading to and from the school.

Circleville City Council will conduct its next session on Tuesday, October 2nd.
