Finds host family's for exchange students
Since 1982 a non-profit organization has been working toward its mission of "educating tomorrow's leaders" by setting up foreign students with American families. Kathy Rigsby, with the International Student Exchange Program, says they work with the families to select a compatible student.
Michelle Pinkerton, who is a host family mom, says it's a beneficial program for all involved "I cant lie the first time we did it I was a little nervous, not knowing what we were getting into, but its been a learning experience for all of us and its just expanded our family a little more so its great."
These students are typically young adults who want to experience the different opportunities available in the US.
Catalina Stadlin says she is enjoying her experience, but adds there are difficulties
Stadlin is from Columbia, but is currently living with her host family in Pike County.
