Money will benefit the needy and homeless veterans of Ohio.

Local veterans organizations are teaming up to sponsor an event to raise money for veterans who are in need. The "Walk for Homeless Veterans" will take place at the Forrest Everhart Memorial Golf Course at the VA Medical Center on Saturday, November 3rd. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., while the walk starts at 10 a.m.

Ray Pryor said participates are asked to collect donations for the walk-a-thon, and then those donations will go toward programs to help Ohio's struggling veterans.

"We are producing more disabled veterans now than we've ever produced in history because battlefield medicine has come a long way," said Pryor, "and veterans that used to die in battle now are coming home maimed and injured, and they're in need of our help to become productive in society again."

Team and relay walkers are welcomed.

Lunch will be provided at the event.
