A January 8th public meeting will discuss this option with the community.

Huntington Township is the latest Ross County volunteer squad and fire operation to seriously consider paid staff to operate during certain busy hours of the day.

Huntington Township Fire Chief Larry Cuckler says they have been forced to pay for some private ambulance service runs, but that isn't always available to the township.

Huntington Township Trustees will conduct a public meeting at 7pm January 8th, to give the community an opportunity to hear details of what volunteer safety service crews are experiencing with "man-power" shortages, and how a professional staff scenario could function.

The meeting will be held in the Huntington Township Fire House.
