Anna Villarreal Jenkins is this years' annual winner

The local attorney and sometimes chiropractor received the "Citizen of the Year" award for 2012 Wednesday night.  Anna Villarreal Jenkins was praised for always volunteering, which she said is her responsibility taught her by her family.

Helping with "Special Santa" is one of the projects for the Jaycees, and Villarreal asked to help a large number of children...twice.  She recalled the number of children when she was president of the Jaycees in 1989 and that the number had decreased.

Incoming Jaycees president Angie Lochbaum lists Villarreal's volunteering and said the "Citizen of the Year" sums up the group.

The Jaycees - or "Junior Chamber...of Commerce - has members age 21 to 41 serving communities. The Jaycees' many local events includes the Dan & Mike Golf Outing, Easter Egg Hunt, and the Halloween Parade.
