The person who took the truck, suffered injuries
The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle injury crash which occurred on Charleston Pike in Ross County, at 12:08am Friday.
The vehicle was a 2003 Kenworth Fire Truck that had been stolen from the Harrison Township Fire Department. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Charleston Pike when it traveled off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, and overturned. The driver was ejected.
The driver is currently unidentified. He was transported by Air Evac to the Ohio State Medical Center. Alcohol and/or drugs of impairment are suspected. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of the fire truck.
