A Fayette County farmer believes agriculture needs to do its part in maintaining our clean ground water supply
The "green movement" isn't the only one pushing for getting a better handle on keeping our waterways clean. The agriculture community also wants the public to know they are concerned about it as well.
Gene Baumgardner is a life-long farmer in Fayette and Madison counties, who says those that till the land need to be responsible too.
Baumgardner's farm is located north of Jeffersonville, along Sugar Creek. He urges farmers to check with OSU Extension and Soil & water Conservation to make sure they are up-to-snuff on what needs to be done to protect our water supply.
Baumgardner is member of the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association.
