The "Entrepreneur of the Year" was named Monday night in the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner.
The founder of "Printex Same-Day Printing," Jeff Marshall, received the award for 2011. He recalled how he started planning "Chillicothe Graphics" in 1975 in his home near Waverly, while working full-time for Banc Ohio in Columbus.
After filling the living room with printers, the copier in the hallway was too much, and his wife made him find a business location in 1981.
Since then he has printed billions of products, and has outlasted all the printers in the area. If he's learned one thing over 36 years, its how the industry has changed.
Marshall says there's five words that are not in his vocabulary: "can't be done that quickly."
His son Jeffrey has been increasingly managing, and thinking outside the box, for three years...but Marshall isn't ready to retire just yet.
