A penalty awaits those who don't pay on time.
First-half real estate tax payments for Ross County are due this Friday, February 10th.
Ohio law requires the treasurer to charge a 10% penalty on all payments received after the due date except for payments that are postmarked by the due date. The treasurer’s office has extended hours this week and will be open everyday from 8:30am to 6pm.
Taxpayers who receive a separate manufactured home bill have until March 1st to make those payments. Taxpayers who wait until Friday night are still able to get their payments in on time by placing them in either the night deposit slot at the Treasurer’s office or the drive-up tax payment box located in the parking lot of the Ross County Service Center on Western Avenue in Chillicothe.
