Fatal Crash in Ross County

The Sheriff's Office says one has died in a crash on Charleston Pike.

A Chillicothe woman was killed and two other residents hurt in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon. 

The Ross County Sheriff's Office says the collision on Charleston Pike occurred at about 3pm Tuesday in the 7100-block of Charleston Pike.

22-year-old Ashley Penwell of East Water Street was killed and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to Adena Regional Medical Center
.

The sheriff's department says Penwell was driving a compact car when she failed to negotiate a curve, over-corrected then collided with an SUV driven by 62-year-old Gordon Barnhart of Hough Road.

Barnhart and his wife, 51-year-old Sharon suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
