The Sunday accident on State Route 104 sent two people to the hospital.
A Waverly man has been hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Pike County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a one vehicle injury crash that occurred on State Route 104 just south of the city of Waverly Sunday at approximately 6:40am.
39-year-old Gary L. Grooms of Waverly had been driving northbound on State Route 104 when his vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway striking a large tree. Grooms was transported to Pike Community Hospital by Pike County EMS, where he was then air lifted by Air Vac helicopter to OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
Grooms’ passenger, 10-year-old Miles B. Grooms of Jasper was transported to Pike Community Hospital by Pike County EMS. He was treated and released.
A reason for the crash is still under investigation.
