The first capital is mentioned as one of the top smaller cities in the nation.

Chillicothe ranks 21st on Site Selection Magazine’s list of the top 100 Micropolitan Areas in the U.S. for 2011.

Five local projects met at least one of three criteria for Site Selection’s Governor’s Cup consideration: $1 million in new capital investment, 20,000 square feet of new construction, or creation of at least fifty new jobs.

This is Chillicothe’s first appearance on the Site Selection list.
