Copper pipes to the hot water taken were stolen, flooding the church sanctuary and hallway
A Chillicothe church building sustained water damages after thieves broke in and stole copper piping.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints told police he was checking on the empty Fourth Street building Thursday when he noticed that a basement window had shattered and water was gushing out of the building.
Chillicothe Police say copper piping had been cut at the hot water tank and removed, causing the building to flood. Flood damage was reported to the hallway and sanctuary. The total amount of damage was unknown.
