One person was transported from the scene by medical helicopter.

One man was injured in single-vehicle crash, early Thursday afternoon. According to the Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Nicholas Seymour, of Waverly, was northbound on US Route 23 at Divide Hill south of Chillicothe when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Authorities say a witness was able to help Seymour out of the vehicle before it caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.

Seymour was flown to a Columbus hospital by medical helicopter for incapacitating injuries.

Traffic had been stopped on the southbound lanes, according to eyewitnesses at about 12:30pm; however, traffic flow has since been restored.
