A number of area high school golfers will be vying for state tournament berths this week as district tournament play gets underway.

The Girls Division 2 District is Monday at Pickaway Country Club in Circleville. Westfall, Logan Elm & Hillsboro teams along with Shania Irvin of Huntington will be playing from our area. Three teams and three individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to state tournament.

The Boys Division 3 District is Tuesday at Apple Valley Course, where Lynchburg Clay team will be joined by Adena's Peyton Cooper and Chandler Grooms of Western. The top three teams and individuals not on a qualifying team head to state.

Boys Division 2 District will be Wednesday at Pickaway Country Club, with Unioto, Fairfield Union, Washington CH, Miami Trace and Sheridan are among the participating teams, along with individual players Tyler Nartker of Waverly, Andrew Pettenski of Westfall and McClain's Adam Sharp.
