Westfall Claims 2nd Straight Gold Football
The Mustangs finish an unbeaten SVC season and clinch Week 1 home playoff game

The Westfall Mustangs defended their undisputed SVC football championship Friday, beating Huntington 48-21 in a game where rain played a major role.

Both teams, known for their passing exploits this season, combined for only seven attempts in the air- completing four.

Most of the yards would be gained on the ground, with Westfall rolling-up 280 to 201 for Huntington.

Mustangs quarterback Trent Williamson ran for 166 yards on 17 carries, scoring four TD's and throwing for another. Ronnie Hettinger led the Huntsmen offensive attack with 89 yards and two TD's.

Huntington completed a successful turn-around season at (5-5), after snapping a 37 game losing streak in week two.

(9-1) Westfall will host a Division 4/Region 16- Week 1 playoff game Friday. Piketon, who is in in Division 4/Region 15, will be in the playoffs, but likely on the road at Minford, according to website www.JoeEitel.com. Official playoff pairings from OHSAA will be released Sunday.
