Two SVC volleyball teams will play in the Sweet 16, after district championship wins Saturday.

The Zane Trace Pioneers won a five set thriller over Alexander 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-8. In the fifth set, the Pioneers rallied from being down 5-2 and broke away from the close match, which was last tied at 7-7 for the win.

Zane Trace was led by Hayley Carle with 19 kills and 27 digs, Alyx Chaffin added 14 kills, Delaney Spetnagle chipped-in 14 kills with 24 digs and Kylan Strausbaugh had 9 kills and 25 digs.

Alexander's Hanna Hixson had 27 kills and Sydney Arnold added 21 kills, while Hannah Thomas had 41 digs.

(23-3) Zane Trace will play West Muskingum in the D-3 Logan Regionals Thursday night at 6pm. The match will be broadcast live at 5:50pm on Mix 106.5FM and their IHeart Radio connection, due to possible programming conflicts on WKKJ with the CMA Awards Show.

Huntsmen had their tournament run cut short, falling in four sets to Nelsonville York  23-25, 25-21, 18-25, 22-25.

Huntington's Jackie Kellough led with 25 kills, and Dylana Gragg added 19 kills and 10 digs. Alayna Lightle had 24 digs.

Nelsonville York was led by Kaitlyn Maiden with 17 kills and 10 digs and Caitlyn Breeze added 14 kills and 16 digs.

The Buckeyes improve to (23-3 while Huntington ends their season at (15-9).

The Division II District Volleyball crown this year belongs to the Westfall Lady Mustangs as they defeated a very tough Washington Court House team in four sets, 25-21, 14-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Olivia Cobb led the way for Mustangs with a team high 22 kills, 22 assists 1 block, 3 aces and 11 digs, Hannah Phillips had 12 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces and 5 digs and Kayla Tackett cleaned up with 25 digs.

Westfall advances to the regional semis at 6pm Wednesday at Wilmington High School against either Dayton Chaminade Julienne or Cincinnati McNicolas.
