The Bearcats advance to the sectional finals with a 51-48 win Monday
Paint Valley converted on their last five free throws to pull-out a 51-48 victory over West Union Monday to advance to the Division 3 Sectional Championship.
The (8-14) Bearcats overcame deficits of 11 points in the first half and two eight point deficits in the second half to win the game, returning to face #1 seed Eastern Brown this Friday at 6pm in the Waverly Downtown Gym.
Two Bearcats hit double figures in scoring, led by 6'4 sophomore Mason McCloy had 15 points and Clay Stratton added 14 points/8 rebounds. Tylar Adkins played inspired ball to help lead PV back from a 17-6 deficit after the first quarter, scoring 6 of his 8 points in the first half.
Brady Hinkle led the (3-19) Dragons with 12 points in a losing effort.
Paint Valley connected on 20/43 from the field for 43%- including 3/9 from the arc, while WU was 17/51 for 33%- including 4/17 from the arc. PV was 8/16 at the charity stripe and West Union was 11/16.
